These work from home jobs are ones that you can explore without a degree:
1. Marketing Consultant
A consultant is somebody who tells somebody else how to do something a lot better.
In this case a marketing consultant is approaching people who produce things, business people who have products and services, how to better market their products and services.
The real point to take away from this particular work from home job is that you are better served if you are a specialist.

Or you might be somebody who has learned the technical ability to create sales funnels, which are essentially automated pathways that lead a potential customer all the way to making a sale.
2. Online Teacher
I particularly love this one because anyone can become an online teacher today.
An online teacher can explore their potential talents or their knowledge in various different ways.
It could be that they offer one to one teaching.
That could be face to face, online, or it could be that they offer one to many teaching, which can be delivered on platforms such as Zoom or Skype.
It could be that they also offer online course creation. So this is where they actually take the knowledge that they've got, but they have them pre-recorded as an audio or video and distributed which can generate income.
This is something that absolutely anyone can do, you can explore one of those three pathways that I mentioned, to start to generate some extra income for yourself today.
3. Explore Coding
Coding has become so popular that it keeps increasing in popularity.
So to make this really real, I've asked my brother who is a software engineer/ programmer / coder to tell us why coding is a high paying job.
Read below the mini interview with my brother Kingsley:
“Hey, Kings, so I know that you literally can code in your sleep. Can keep telling our audience why is coding such a high paying job? And how easy is it to get started?
Alright, so I am a coder and coders are high paying job for a few reasons.
The number one reason is that it is in demand. And the reason coding is in demand is because it has no industry boundaries.
So if you're an accountant, a solicitor, a politician in Government, tech industry, music industry, health industry, or whatever industry you're interested in, working in, there is an IT side of it.
So this is what makes IT or programming in general, really much in demand.
So how easy is it for someone to actually get started?
Getting started with coding is as simple as just finding the time.
A couple of hours every day that you can dedicate to just learning the craft, is a good start.
There's a very high percentage of programmers probably up to 70%, who did not study coding at a university level.
It is one of those industries where you can show what you can do through a portfolio of work.
There are literally hundreds of websites out there from Udemy to Coursera, designed to teach people how to code and that's the concept.
Anybody can learn to code.
How much can somebody make coding? Give us an idea.
So you can earn very well, actually £800 to £1000 a day.
What? £800 to £1,000 per day
Yep. And the best part is you could do it from the comfort of your own home. Or you could be on a beach somewhere.
There's never been a better incentive.
Thank you, Kingsley. That's fantastic. Thank you very much.
So guys, just to show you how you know how easy it is for people to get started potentially with coding.
Kingsley's partner who has varied interests. Everything from dog training to all kinds of things but she also does coding.
Kings, is your partner there with you to come on?
My partner Diana, basically wants to build her own online dog training platform.
So this is her motivation behind learning to code. Behind every person who wants to learn to code is always a business desire.
So Diana didn't go to university or anything like that to learn?
She did not study software development at University. She did a veterinary course.
However, she wants to build a home business.
The cost of hiring a software engineer to build it for you is very high.
And why not learn it yourself? So that's what she's doing. Lots of people have done the same. So it's this incredible skill to have.
Excellent. “

5. Video Editing
This obviously speaks for itself. But the beauty of video editing is that it's growing in so much demand.
There are a ton of people who are creating content every single day on so many different platforms, including on YouTube.
All those people require other skilled professionals to take the work away from them.
As such, this is a really incredible niche for making good money. You can charge as much as £100 to £150 per video that you edit.
You can also bundle the pricing up and offer your services by saying charging by the month, £600 to £700 per month for doing that.
Video editing is something that you can actually learn, my wife, who is the other half of The Humble Penny is a video editor.
This is a skill that she learned just by necessity by us starting our YouTube channel.
Mary will tell you why video editing is a high paying work from home job and how you can get started today
Read below the mini interview with my wife Mary:
“So here you are editing the video version of this blog post that people are reading right now. So can you just talk to us about why video editing is, a high paying work from home job?“
Video editing is in high demand at the moment. However, it's quite a technical and specialised role.
And so there is a bit of learning involved, but anyone can learn editing, provided you commit two hours a day to learn a new skill.
Within a month, you'll be confident enough to actually create a video.
Did you go to university to learn video editing?
No, I didn't. I did a degree and there was a short module in my second year. I did a bit of video in motion but no, you don't have to go to university to learn video editing.
How can people get started with this as a work from home job?
Okay, so firstly, I would say that you need a fast powerful computer or laptop. And if you're working from home, you will need fast internet speeds.
Because you will be downloading and uploading some video for your potential clients.
Also, you would need decent software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro or there are some free software's out there that you can use.
And then in terms of admin, I would say to set up an online portfolio, where you can have some short reels just to showcase your work to potential clients.
You might want to have that reel embedded onto a website so you can set up a basic website for yourself using something such as WordPress.
There you can have reels and also links to some of the videos that you have done previously have contact information and “About Me” info on your site.
6. Technical Virtual Assistant
Next is a tech virtual assistant or a tech VA.
So a virtual assistant is essentially as the name suggests an assistant who helps virtually.
Somebody who assists in running an operation for a business.
We have virtual assistants helping us out with our business here at The Humble Penny.
We've got a general VA, who helps us out with various kind of general tasks such as managing our communities and dealing with email management and things like that.
But we also have a tech VA, who on the other hand, is somebody who has a particular skill set that is technology related.
So they can create landing pages, build evergreen funnels or write copy.
They can help to create ebooks and other products that you might need to market your business, to create sales, and so on and serve your audience.
This particular skill is one that I really recommend because there aren't that many people who are doing it, but there's so much demand. In fact, there is excess demand for tech VA's.
Become a tech VA by marketing yourself.
You first have to understand how various pieces of technology come together to create things such as an online business.
Have a good understanding of how to use WordPress or a good understanding of how email marketing systems work and things like that.
And that in itself comes with some learning, which is one thing I want to make sure I keep stressing.
All these ideas require you to exchange time and learn a new skill, which is something that you will find useful as time progresses.
The more you are able to learn technical skills that are niche and in demand, the more you will make extra money.
7. Social Media Manager
This is one that has become very popular and has a lot more competition now.
But you can differentiate yourself by becoming more specialist in this area.
So you might, specialise in a particular industry.
Or you might be somebody who is a social media manager who has a particular specialism in a particular niche.
For example, you might be a Pinterest expert, Instagram expert, or even an expert on YouTube.
The key is for you to actually seek out a particular platform, develop a lot of knowledge about it, and have an interest in it.
You will find that if you start to market yourself, as somebody who understands how to connect a particular platform with the needs of a business…
And you're able to articulate that need really well, you find yourself having excess demand to provide that service.
Because there are so many businesses out there that require a really effective social media manager and somebody who has the experience and can demonstrate results by being a specialist in a particular niche.
8. Podcast Prodution
Now I'm going to tell you a bit of a story, I went on a podcast interview recently, and when I got there, the guy who invited me was the host of the podcast.
I had expected him to have his own studio, but what he had actually done was he had outsourced the entire production of his podcast.
In fact, he outsourced not just the production, but the actual management of his podcast, everything from the actual show being recorded to the actual podcast episode being edited.
As well as the podcasts being delivered and marketed by this particular company.
The company that was doing this was run by a really young guy who was using his back garage as a podcast studio.
The podcast host would outsource the entire service to the likes of this particular individual and invite me as a guest.
Podcast production and podcasts management together are becoming services that you know are in high demand.
Why? Because podcasting is become so popular.
Research shows that around 80% of podcast episodes are typically listened to on average.
People might not read blogs often, might not watch long form videos, but podcast episodes on the other hand have a lot of demand.
Because once you're plugged in to a podcast, you stick with it and listen to an episode fully or near to the end.
Podcasts have become really popular because it's highly engaging. Plus, you can have a lot of diversity in the podcast world.
This has created demand for podcast production and podcast management.
So exploring podcast production as a work from home job is something that you can do.
You are able to get involved with the planning process of podcasts, with the creative aspects such as music.
In addition, you might even get involved with editing and potentially marketing that podcast.
And for that you can charge a recurring fee for podcast production.
What tends to happen is, you build a good relationship with a content creator, you demonstrate that you are very good and learned the skills necessary to produce a podcast, or even manage a podcast.
They'll keep calling you back for repeat business in helping them to deliver on their podcast episodes.
9. Editing and Proof Reading
You might not know this, but a lot of people who write content typically need somebody else, to review that content to edit it and to proofread it.
There are lots of people out there who generate a really good income for various pieces of work that are created daily.
They need editors and proofreaders to make sure that the content is high quality before that then goes on to the next stage of delivering on that particular piece of content.
10. Copy Writer
Copywriting is the art of essentially writing really good and captive copy.
So you might find that if you visit a sales page or a website and see the headlines are really attractive and captivating…
These can lead you towards reading more and exploring products or services that a particular business might be selling.
The art of creating that copy that's engaging can lead you to make a potential purchase decision.
The art of copywriting is highly sought after and one that many businesses use to attract you and get you to engage better with their products and services.

Hi Ken,
These are all solid ideas, and would suit people with a variety of personality types. I do freelance writing this now as my side hustle, and agree that you don’t need to be a super talented writer to make money.
If you can write in a conversational, blog-style tone (which is what most people want), then you’re good enough to achieve £1 a word.
The Humble Penny says
I agree, Jamie. Thanks for sharing 🙂
